Alexandra Daddario Talks Catwoman & Whether She’d Join Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’

Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario won’t say if she’d play Catwoman, but she’s definitely down to join Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie.

While the hunt goes on for the next Catwoman in the upcoming Batman film starring Robert Pattinson, Alexandra Daddario recently addressed the sway of fan-casting choices that placed her as Selina Kyle. The actress also discussed the possibility of reuniting with Dwayne Johnson for Black Adam since the pair have previously worked together on a number of films.

In an interview with ComicBookMovie, Alexandra Daddario explained that she wasn’t aware that fans were discussing her as Catwoman, and seemed flattered by the idea. The actress also stated that she’d love to work in a cinematic universe of any kind, because she finds the roles fascinating, but doesn’t like to get too invested in a role before an audition. Here’s what Alexandra Daddario told the site:

CBM: Im sure you’re aware that you’re a fan-favourite choice to play Catwoman in the new Batman movie; is that a role you would be interested in or are there other superhero characters you have in mind?

Alexandra Daddario: Oh! I actually didn’t know that. That’s cool! Look, of course I would love to join any cinematic universe. I think those roles are really, really cool. I think they do great things for people’s careers and it’s always fun being in a big movie like that. I don’t like to think too much about a role either before I have an audition or it’s something that I’m working on. I don’t like to get too invested in things I don’t have but of course it would be silly of me to say, ‘No, that’s not something I want to do.’ I think that’s really cool and thank you to the fans for thinking of me!

When asked about whether she’d like to appear alongside Dwayne Johnson in Black Adam since the pair have worked together before on San Andreas and Baywatch, Alexandra Daddario mentioned that she loved collaborating with him and his team. The actress also talked about enjoying doing her own stunts on huge sets, which the Catwoman role would presumably involve a lot of. While she doesn’t go into whether she’d like to play Catwoman, Alexandra Daddario did say that she’s down to join Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. It’s obvious that Alexandra Daddario is open to starring in the DCEU – whether that’s in The BatmanBlack Adam or something completely different.

CBM: It seems you get put forward for a lot of superhero roles whether it’s Marvel or DC and I know you’ve worked with Dwayne Johnson a fair bit in the past. He’s currently developing a DC Comics movie called Black Adam, so is that somewhere you would like to potentially reunite with him?

Alexandra Daddario: Again, of course! It would be silly for me to say no. I love working with Dwayne, I love his team, and those projects were incredibly fun. I’ve done big movies a few times and I think it’s just so cool. The sets are so cool, I love doing stunts, and I love all that stuff. It’s fun and exciting. Of course, that would be great but again, it’s hard to think about something you don’t have yet if that makes any sense?

Catwoman is set to appear in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. While details are slim, Reeves has confirmed that his upcoming movie featuring Robert Pattinson is not based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will emphasize the hero as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight.

The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Catwoman, Alexandra Daddario, Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam and the futur eof the DC Extended Universe!
