Warner Bros. and MGM’s Tomb Raider reboot has been filming in Africa for about two weeks now, but we haven’t heard much about the project besides that. That changes today, though, as The Daily Mail has revealed the first images of Alicia Vikander in full costume as Lara Croft on the set of the upcoming movie.
In the photos, Vikander can be seen pulling off some dangerous stunts on top of a long plank. She seems to be injured and her hands appear to be tied, but we don’t really know what’s going on here as details are being kept under wraps. We can’t post the photos, but you can check them out by clicking here.
The reboot is being directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave). The cast also includes Walton Goggins as the main antagonist and Daniel Wu as Lu Ren, a ship captain who teams up with Vikander’s character on a quest to find her long missing father. The Wire star Dominic West was recently cast as Lara’s father, marking the second time that the actor is playing Vikander’s dad on screen, the first being in 2014’s Testament Of Youth.
Tomb Raider opens in theaters on March 16, 2018.
