In 1979, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi/horror crossover movie Alien burst into theaters and into the realm of classic film. Given that it’s almost been 40 years since the original hit theaters, Fox has decided to team up with Regal Cinemas to bring the film back to theaters for a special one-night event.
Taking place on April 26 – a day known as Alien Day in honor of the name of the moon Ripley and co. first encountered Xenomorph eggs (LV-426) on – the event will bring Alien back to theaters just a few weeks before the next installment in the franchise, Alien: Covenant, releases.
Screening only at participating Regal RPX movie theaters, the event will not only include Alien but will also feature exclusive footage from Alien: Covenant. Moviegoers will also receive a one-of-a-kind commemorative ticket for the event.
Tickets for Fox’s Alien Day celebration go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18.
So, what do you think? Will you be making this Alien Day extra special by seeing the original when it returns to theaters or will you just opt to watch it at home?
