Allison Mack: Judge Finds Issues With Smallville Star, NXIVM Defense Fund

Allison Mack Smallville Nxivm Wonder Woman

The curious case of the NXIVM cult, including Smallville star Allison Mack, is facing another hurdle.

Based on a report by the New York Post, a Brooklyn judge is bringing in NXIVM cult members, Allison Mack among them, because of some issues found with the group’s defense fund. Prosecutors believe that the fund was set up by Clare Bronfman, who was reported in the past to have been paying the legal fees for the NXIVM members. Apparently, this is part of a long-term plan so Bronfman can bolster the members’ odds through paying for high-quality defense attorneys.

The judge involved with the case, Nicholas Garaufis, stated this past Wednesday that the defendants must attend court in order to significantly address issues that the court has identified in the review of the indenture. Furthermore, the judge also said that further investigations on this matter will indeed be scheduled to address the finances, but this will be at a later date. As you’ll recall, the NXIVM members, Allison Mack included, are being charged with sex trafficking and aiding known NXIVM leader Keith Raniere. In the secret group, Mack reportedly branded women with her and Raniere’s initials, with the women apparently being forced to comply with their assigned masters.

The trial was originally slated for March 18 and will now begin April 29. The date was reportedly changed because multiple sex cult members claimed they didn’t want to stand trial with accused sex traffickers Rainiere and Mack. Bronfman, Lauren Salzman, her mother Nancy Salzman, and Kathy Russell are charged with forced labor conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, and racketeering.

As for how this will unfold, we’ll have to wait and see as the case develops. Stay tuned for any and all future developments as the curious case of the NXIVM cult continue to unravel.
