Maze Runner star Will Poulter has joined the cast of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series.

Amazon will soon transport audiences back to J. R. R, Tolkien’s Middle-Earth in a new Lord of the Rings series and Variety reports Maze Runner star Will Poulter has joined the cast of the show. Details on Will Poulter’s Lord of the Rings role are currently under wraps, though the outlet’s sources say the character will be one of the leads of the Amazon series.

Amazon reportedly declined to comment on news of Will Poulter’s casting and representatives for the Maze Runner star did no immediately respond to the outlet’s request for comment. In addition to his role in Maze Runner and its sequel subtitled The Death Cure, Will Poulter’s credits include The Revenant, Detroit, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, and Midsommar.

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series is being developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay, who will lead a writers room that includes Game of Thrones alum Bryan Cogman. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to direct multiple episodes of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series.

Full details on Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series are currently unknown, though it is reported to be before the events of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring during the Second Age of Middle-Earth. The Lord of the Rings series is produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line Cinema.
