The first social media reactions to Andor have arrived online ahead of the Star Wars show’s three-episode premiere next week.

Lucasfilm has released two Star Wars series this year with The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both have received mixed reactions from fans and critics, but Lucasfilm hopes their next series changes that, and early reactions to Andor preview what fans can expect.

Does Andor Deliver?

Critics got to see the first four episodes of Andor while others at a launch event watched the first three. Based on the first Andor social media reactions, the consensus is that it will be much more adult than past Star Wars shows, a little slow at first, and isn’t as reliant on Easter eggs. You can check out some of the social media reactions to the first few episodes of Andor from Twitter below.

Here is the synopsis for Andor:

“The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff, and Beau Willimon served as the writers of the Star Wars series, while Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.

Andor will premiere Disney Plus on September 21, 2022, with three episodes. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming series, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
