Andrew Garfield Says He Has No Plans To Return As Spider-Man

Is he crying wolf?

Andrew Garfield has revealed that he has no plans to return as Spider-Man.

He’s lying, isn’t he? Spider-Man: No Way Home saw three generations of Peter Parker sharing the big screen for the first time. The film was widely praised for its daring crossover, which saw Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s respective Spider-Men serving as mentors to Tom Holland’s budding hero. With both Spider-Man variants back in their respective universe, it begs the question, will Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire return in future projects?

While rumors have suggested that both will return eventually, Andrew Garfield has denied the suggestion that he’ll return as Spider-Man. Garfield, of course, notoriously lied for months leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home that he wouldn’t be in the film. And lo and behold, he was front and center alongside Tobey Maguire.

In a chat with Variety, Andrew Garfield discussed how he won’t be returning as Spider-Man but he’s more than aware of how the public will perceive his comments as lies.

“No plans, that’s the truth. I mean, everyone’s gonna call me a liar for the rest of my life. I am the boy who cried wolf now, that’s that.”
