Andrew Lincoln’s Mom Worried About ‘Walking Dead’ S7 Premiere

AMC’s The Walking Dead season six left audiences on the biggest cliffhanger of the series to date. Which characters would make it out alive after their first encounter with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)? Andrew Lincoln plays Rick Grimes on Dead and has been the main character since season one, but even he isn’t safe, which certainly has his own mother worried.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln explained that his mother is very worried about him having to go back to that emotional place, in which season six left off.

“I remember my mother said to me, ‘That’s going to be quite a challenge to get back into that state that you were straight after a break. And I just said, ‘Thanks, mom. That’s kind of my job, thank you.’”

Lincoln added that his character was truly broken at the end of last season.

“As the season finished, the story was about Rick being broken and realizing that basically everything that he thought has been turned upside down in the space pretty of much of a day. The world that he fought and strove for for so long has irrevocably changed.”

Fans have been analyzing every second of footage for clues but will have to wait until the season seven premiere for the reveal.  The Walking Dead will return on Sunday, October 23 at 9/8c on AMC.
