Andy Muschietti Top Choice To Direct ‘The Brave And The Bold’

Andy Muschietti could continue working with DC!

Andy Muschietti Batman Robin DC Comics

The Flash director Andy Muschietti is reportedly the top choice to helm the upcoming Batman and Robin feature The Brave and the Bold. While there is currently no script in place and no formal commitment from Muschietti, Warner Bros. sees him as a valuable asset based on his previous success with the studio.

Following the success of It The Flash, Andy Muschietti has become a favorite at Warner Brothers and his collaboration with the studio has been highly-regarded. Despite uncertainties surrounding Ezra Miller’s DC Universe future, Muschietti’s involvement in The Brave and the Bold seems promising. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, indicating that the studio is eager to secure the director for the Batman and Robin project.

The Brave and the Bold is set to focus on Bruce Wayne’s iteration of Batman and his son Damian, who serves as the fifth Robin. During the recent DC Studios presentation at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled their plans to introduce the central Batman character for the broader DC Universe.

While Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman continues in a separate narrative helmed by director Matt Reeves, with a scheduled release in October 2025, Warner Bros. is actively seeking a second Dark Knight to anchor their interconnected DC Universe. The inclusion of the Damian Wayne version of Robin also promises an exciting dynamic within the Batman mythology.

James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe plans

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room and a unified storyline across film, teleivsion, animation and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

The FlashBlue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are currently in various stages of post-production at Warner Bros. Discovery, with all three DC Universe movies slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
