That's an intriguing choice.

Eternals star Angelina Jolie said she’d “talk” to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about directing a film in the franchise.

Eternals held its worldwide premiere last night, where it received stellar praise from attendees. The film, directed by Chloe Zhao, features a heavyweight of talent, including Angelina Jolie. Both an actor and director, Jolie has been one of the 21st century’s most popular stars, so it was a no-brainer when she was tapped in to star as Thena, one of the most powerful Eternals.

Angelina Jolie, who last directed First They Killed My Father, hasn’t returned behind the diector’s chair since 2017. Seeing as she duals as both an actor and director, Variety asked the star on the red carpet if she would be interested in taking on a Marvel film. Jolie neither confirmed nor denied the potential directing job. Instead, she joked that she would speak to Kevin Feige about seeing if she had a job for him.

“Maybe I’ll talk to Kevin [Feige] tonight, see if there’s a job for me,

While Angelina Jolie’s previous directorial fare has always been on the more dramatic side, it would be interesting to see her take on a large-scale blockbuster. Seeing as Eternals is Marvel’s first project that strips back the action and focuses on a less traditional story, Angelina Jolie might be able to shape her own, unique film within the company’s large, expansive umbrella.

Here is the synopsis for Eternals:

“The story takes place across two time periods. One storyline is set in the past when they operated as a formidable team and a close family unit. The second storyline is in the present, when the group has fractured and split apart, content to live among humans, hiding in plain sight. The prevailing threat of the Deviants, which once again threatens the existence of mankind, means the Eternals need to put their differences aside and regroup.”

Chloe Zhao directed Eternals from a script she co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Kaz Firpo, and Ryan Firpo. The cast of the Marvel Studios project includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming MCU film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
