Maleficent star Angelina Jolie said she’s ready to join Disney’s Star Wars franchise after The Eternals.
This fall, Angelina Jolie will reprise her role as the eponymous character in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, a sequel to Disney’s retelling of the classic Sleeping Beauty tale. The following year, Angelina Jolie will portray Thena in Marvel Studios’ The Eternals, marking her second role in a major Disney franchise.
Of course, this leaves the Star Wars film series as one of the only major Disney franchises in which Angelina Jolie has yet to appear. When MTV News asked about the possibility of appearing in a Star Wars film, Angelina Jolie said asked The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams why she couldn’t join the franchise but the conversation didn’t far enough to work out any details. Angelina Jolie then discussed how excited she was to join Marvel Studios’ The Eternals and work with director Chloé Zhao.
