Another familiar face is joining Ballerina...

Anjelica Huston The Director John Wick

Anjelica Huston is set to appear in the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina.

According to the Hot Mic podcast hosts John Rocha and Jeff Sneider, Anjelica Huston has joined the cast of Ballerina, the upcoming John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas. Huston’s Ballerina casting comes on the same week as the additions of Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane, who are reprising their roles as John Wick and Winston Scott, respectively.

Anjelica Huston made her John Wick universe debut in the third entry of the popular action series, playing The Director, the head of the crime organization Ruska Roma. During one of her scenes in the movie, Huston is seen directing ballet, performed by female orphans that presumably go on to become assassins.

Ana de Armas is playing the lead character of Ballerina. The John Wick spin-off revolves around a deadly woman who uses her skills to get on revenge on the hitmen who killed her family. The film’s screenplay comes from Shay Hatten, the writer behind Parabellum and Army of the Dead.

More John Wick content is on the way.

While Ballerina does not yet have a release date, John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2023. Reeves and McShane lead the Chapter 4 cast, which also includes Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Clancy Brown, Marko Zaror, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama.

In addition to Ballerina and John Wick: Chapter 4, Lionsgate is also working on The Continental, a spin-off series that explores the origins of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott. Colin Woodell is playing Winston, with a supporting cast that includes Ayomide Adegun, Peter Greene, Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada and Nhung Kate. The series is set to premiere on Peacock in 2023.
