Paul Rudd may have confirmed that Ant-Man 3 is in development a bit earlier than he intended.
In a reader tip to the Weekly Planet podcast, a fan claims to have visited the set for Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters 2020, of which Paul Rudd stars in. The fan claims that Paul Rudd told them that a script for Ant-Man 3 was already finished, only for him to immediately walk back his statements out of curiosity to see how fast the rumor would spread. The Weekly Planet did not affirm this information.
Marvel Studios recently announced a slate for Phase 4 during their San Diego Comic-Con panel, which consists of films such as Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Kevin Feige also mentioned that although they were not officially presented during the presentation, sequels to Black Panther and Captain Marvel as well as the involvement of the Fantastic Four and Mutants would be coming in the future. Any projects not included during the presentation could still be in development, and that can include Ant-Man 3 starring Paul Rudd.
As far as Marvel Studios is concerned, Ant-Man 3 is not officially part of the Phase 4 slate at the moment, but don’t be surprised if Paul Rudd eventually comes back for a third microscopic adventure of gigantic proportions.
Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man can be seen in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. Here is the synopsis:
