Anthony Mackie wants Chris Evans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and appear on set of the upcoming Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
While speaking to IMDb TV, Anthony Mackie was asked what the best part of doing an Avengers project without Chris Evans. Anthony Mackie joked by saying that you get a to sleep and get a lot of downtime in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier without Chris Evans. He went on to say that Chris Evans was one of his closest friends and that when they were on set together they would cause all kinds of trouble. He hoped that they could have him on the set of Falcon and The Winter Soldier so they could cause more trouble on the set of the upcoming Disney+ series:
“You get to sleep. You get a lot of downtime. No, there is no good part about it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand times, Chris is one of my closest friends. And when the three of us get together, it’s hell and anarchy. So hopefully we’ll have him around to cause some trouble on set.”

An appearance by Chris Evans in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is not implausible. In the comics, The Falcon took over the role of Captain America for a time while Steve Rodgers, who had aged after losing his supersoldier serum, took on a more advisory role in the series. Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, of course, survived the events of Avengers: Endgame and passed the mantle of Captain America to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon. But from the look of this interview, Anthony Mackie isn’t ready to let Chris Evans leave the MCU.
