Anthony Mackie Says ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’ Will Feel Different From MCU Movies

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie teased that Marvel Studios’ first-ever television series will feel different from the MCU movies.

Marvel has had several successful television shows over the years with many fans hoping for them to crossover into the films. However, no major crossovers ever occurred, but we can expect more in the future with Marvel Studios producing their own television series for Disney Plus. The first series from Marvel Studios will be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and will start streaming in August.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is still in production, but we’ve already seen a glimpse from the series through a Super Bowl ad and the various set pictures that have surfaced online. Anthony Mackie will lead the upcoming Falcon and Winter Soldier series with its entirety being directed by Kari Skogland. With Marvel Studios venturing into television, it allows them to expand on the universe even more-so and treat the live-action story as a comic book series. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony Mackie said that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will not feel like the previous movies we have seen from Marvel Studios:

“They’re going to feel different in and of themselves, because they’re shot in a completely different way than the movies. I think people are going to be surprised by how in-depth and evolved the characters become by having six to eight hours to them, instead of just two hours. When you’re on a team, you play your role. But with this, you really get to see who the characters are in their lives between the movies.”
