‘Aquaman’ & ‘Bumblebee’ Box Office Holiday Forecast Revealed

Aquaman Bumblebee Box Office

Get ready for what is shaping up to be a massive weekend at the box office right before Christmas. Two of the most-anticipated films of the year, Aquaman and Bumblebee are set to make their theatrical debut in North America and other territories just in time for one of, if not the busiest moviegoing time of the year. Now, we have a Christmas weekend forecast for the first three days of these respective films’ debut.

Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Aquaman has been making waves at the box office for the last two weeks prior to it finally opening in the U.S., having crossed the $300 million mark already. The film is expected to ride that wave to box office success once again with a forecast of around $82 – 85 million in its first three days before Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The film is expected to perform quite well thanks to mostly positive reviews from critics.

As for Paramount Pictures’ Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, that film is expected to debut with around $22 million in its first three days. Heavy competition from Aquaman, Mary Poppins Returns and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse may play a factor in its overall totals this weekend, but the film has received great word of mouth from critics and is the Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, so it is expected to have massive legs in the weeks to come.

It is expected that the top 5 of the Dec. 21-23 weekend will consist of the following:

  1. Aquaman
  2. Mary Poppins Returns
  3. Bumblebee
  4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
  5. The Mule
