New Chinese ‘Aquaman’ Promo Teases Battles Above & Below Surface

Marvel Studios Kevin Feige Aquaman Jason Momoa DC

While currently, Aquaman will be released in the United States alongside the likes of Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns, fans abroad will have a chance to dip into the pool earlier when the upcoming James Wan-directed DC film makes a splash in China two weeks before the film swims into theaters in the U.S. And main actors Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made sure to commemorate this event in a new Aquaman promo.

In the video, Momoa, Heard, and Abdul-Mateen discuss some of the film’s events, noting that great battles will take place above and below the surface. More than that, Arthur Curry must contend with not one, but two villains at the same time. Or, as Momoa corrects, two villains must face him. Still, Heard encourages viewers in the Chinese market to dive in with the rest of the cast when Aquaman arrives in theaters on December 7. Here, have a look at the Aquaman stars announcing the film’s release in China in the promo below:

Indeed, based on this and prior trailers, it seems that Arthur and Mera will certainly have their hands full above and below the surface, contending with the likes of Ocean Master, Black Manta, and everything else thrown at them in the middle of their quest. And it’s these experiences that will help dolphin who Arthur Curry is- I mean, define who Arthur Curry is. So he and Mera must go with the flow and rock the boat when necessary in their upcoming battles. That way, any potential issues will just be water under the bridge.

Are you tired of all these water puns? Well, water you waiting for? Let us know your thoughts on this new promo and your expectations for the Aquaman film in the comments below and stay tuned for more Aquaman news.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman.

The film will swim into theaters on December 21, 2018.
