A cosplayer has shared a photo of his take on Jason Momoa’s Aquaman look and he looks just like the fan-favorite character.
Aquaman star Jason Momoa reinvented Arthur Curry as a character between his earlier appearances in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its follow-up Justice League. However, Jason Momoa really made Aquaman his own with his first cinematic solo outing, which finally saw the actor don Arthur Curry’s classic orange and green costume at the very end as a culmination of his character development from heroic rogue to the rightful King of Atlantis.
A fan, who goes by “king_tide_creations” on Instagram, has come up with his own cosplay matching Jason Momoa’s Aquaman look and the design of his ceremonial armor and trident at the end of the first Aquaman movie. You can check out his Jason Momoa-inspired Aquaman cosplay below.
Aquaman grossed $1.147 billion at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it highest-grossing DC Comics movie of all time. A sequel is currently in the works at Warner Brothers, with Jason Momoa and Amber Heard both expected to return. Scheduled to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022, Aquaman 2 is being written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who also worked on the first Aquaman movie. James Wan is expected to return to the director’s chair after he completes a horror project for New Line Cinema.
For now, Jason Momoa can be seen as Arthur Curry in James Wan’s Aquaman. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Jason Momoa, Aquaman and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
