Sideshow Collectibles Reveals First Look At Incredible ‘Aquaman’ Figure

Aquaman Jason Momoa James Wan

Sideshow Collectibles have unveiled the first look at their upcoming Aquaman figure, which features star Jason Momoa in a colorful outfit that will be very familiar to fans of the comics.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 was packed with trailers that made fans go wild with excitment such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Shazam!, and Godzilla; King of the Monsters. Despite so many great trailers premiering at the convention, even within the same Warner Bros. press conference, the trailer for Aquaman was still able to win over the hearts of fans. The fantastic underwater world and epic scale adventure seem to have fans won over, but there’s one particularly awesome image that was shown at the Comic-Con conference that didn’t appear in the publicly released trailer.

The packed crowd of fans and press were able to see a glimpse of footage featuring star Jason Momoa wearing the bright, colorful orange and green costume that Aquaman made iconic in the comics. Although that footage has yet to be released publicly, fans can get a peek at Momoa in the costume via an awesome new Sideshow Collectibles figure that was recently announced. Check out the announcement tweet below.

Though excitement is high for Aquaman, the film will face quite a bit of competition when it hits theaters this December. The film hits theaters one week after Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, two days after Mary Poppins Returns and on the same day as Bumblebee, Holmes & Watson, and The Deadpool Before Christmas. Though Aquaman is expected to be one of the biggest films this Christmas, it will be interesting to see how the film holds up against such a franchise-heavy holiday season.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on the Sideshow Collectibles figure? Which December releases are you planning on heading to the theater to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

The film stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.

Aquaman is currently slated to hit theaters on December 21, 2018.
