Aquaman director James Wan has resolved the apparent mystery surrounding the color of Mera’s costume.
Warner Bros. and DC’s Aquaman will reacquaint audiences with Amber Heard’s Mera, who made a brief appearance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. This time Mera will don a more colorful and comic-accurate outfit, though it appears some were confused about whether or not her classic suit is blue or green. Now, director James Wan has taken to his official Twitter account to confirm that while costume designer Kim Barrett designed the outfit to shift colors depending on the lighting and movements, the costume is predominantly green in natural light.
The incredible Kym Barrett designed it with iridescent properties, so the colour shifts with movements and the way the light hits it (from emerald/turquoise green to deep blue). But it’s predominantly green-ish in natural light. https://t.co/IoZKAeeuOa
