Aquaman star Jason Momoa recently revealed that he has already pitched Warner Bros. his idea for the sequel.
Aquaman is still a couple of months away from release but the hype created by the two trailers so far has been huge. The vibrant colors, fantastic underwater world, and large-scale adventure have been impressing fans ever since the trailer premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Considering it’s opening in a crowded weekend, the film has a lot to prove but the team behind the film seem confident enough in the DC hero’s solo adventure. So much so that the film’s star, Jason Momoa, has already pitched the studio his idea for Aquaman 2.
Aquaman, aka Arthur Curry, was last seen in the 2017 DC team-up film Justice League. The hero’s subplot was infamously cut short in Justice League after going through a hectic post-production, but the star is finally getting his time to shine in his own solo film this December. In this month’s issue of Total Film magazine, Momoa mentioned that he has already pitched his idea for the sequel but he remained tight-lipped on what exactly that pitch was, for obvious reasons. This is what the star had to say about the subject, courtesy of SYFY WIRE.
“I definitely have an opinion.”
Momoa continued to reveal that he had an idea even as far back as when they were filming the first film.
“Even when we were shooting Aquaman, I have the opening of Aquaman 2 ready. I went in and pitched it to [producer Peter] Safran, and I pitched it to [Warner Bros. chairman] Toby Emmerich. They loved it. It’s awesome…But yeah, I have plans for Aquaman 2.”
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman, and hopefully Aquaman 2, as more information becomes available. What’s your opinion on the marketing for Aquaman so far?
