Aquaman writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick shared on social media when the upcoming spin-off on the Trench may take place in the DC Extended Universe.
Aquaman was a massive success, earning over a billion dollars worldwide. Because of Aquaman‘s success, Warner Bros. is looking to expand Atlantis in a big way with both a sequel and a spin-off centered on the Trench. The underwater creatures were seen briefly in the first Aquaman film with a spin-off currently being developed by Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald.
Not much else is know about the Trench spin-off film other than the film embracing horror elements and Aquaman director James Wan being on board as a producer. A fan recently reached out to Aquaman writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick on Twitter and asked if the Trench spin-off is taking place in-between the first two films. Here’s what David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick had to say:
Theoretically, it takes place between 1 and 2. But some pieces of this is still being worked out.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Aquaman 2 is set for a December 16, 2022 release date.
