‘Aquaman’ Surpasses ‘Venom’ In First-Day Pre-Sales On Fandango

Fandango announced that Warner Bros. and DC’s Aquaman has passed Sony’s Venom in first-day ticket pre-sales on the online retailer’s site.

Warner Bros.’ Aquaman is set to arrive in theaters in roughly one month and advance tickets for the highly-anticipated DC film went on sale on Fandango yesterday. In its first day of Fandango presales, the film surpassed the number of first-day advanced tickets sold for Sony’s Venom and Paramount’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis made the following statement on the evident anticipation for the film:

“Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is quickly becoming one of the more popular big-screen superheroes, and moviegoers are hungry to devour another film set within the DC cinematic universe. Not only does it appear to be the most ambitious DC Comics film to date from a visual effects perspective, but fans are anxious to see new female heroes played by Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman, as well as the first superhero film directed by the incredibly successful James Wan.”

Fans who buy Aquaman tickets on Fandango with their VIP Accounts will also receive five free digital DC Comic books (including “Aquaman, No. 1”) as gifts with their purchase.

Fandango is also launching exclusive Aquaman-themed gift card at their gift card portal here.

Aquaman DC Comics Arthur Curry MeraDC Comics has unveiled the Aquaman movie-themed variant covers for the Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth crossover event.

DC Comics' Justice League and Aquaman series' will soon crossover for a story arc titled Drowned Earth and the publisher is releasing variant covers based on Warner Bros.' upcoming film about the King of Atlantis to commemorate the event. Now, six variant covers featuring Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry and Amber Heard's Mera have been released with illustrations from artists Francis Manapul, Francesco Mattina, Lucio Parillo, Ben Oliver, Dale Keown, and Nicola Scott.
