The king of the seven seas just cannot be stopped. While Aquaman is already surfing past other films in the DC Extended Universe, let’s not forget that Arthur Curry’s solo outing has also outgrossed many other comic based films as well, both in Sony’s Marvel Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself. And while the recent DC flick shows no signs of stopping, it has now ridden the waves to past two other comic book films: Venom and Thor: Ragnarok.
Going off of recent releases, both Aquaman and Venom have proven very profitable and successful at the box office. But right now, Aquaman has reeled in a massive global total of $866 million. That total puts it well above Venom, Thor: Ragnarok, and even Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as far as all-time blockbusters. At this trajectory, Arthur Curry’s next targets look to be Batman v Superman and Spider-Man: Homecoming. And Gitesh Panda over on Twitter, who has done a great job chronicling Aquaman’s box office numbers, has the details.
Here, check out his tweet below that details Aquaman’s current global box office gross:
#Aquaman Intl #BoxOffice Update: $12M on THU, overseas now $637M, global rises to massive $866M surpassing #GOTG2, #Venom & #ThorRagnarok on all-time blockbusters list. Tonight it will speed past #BatmanvSuperman and #SpiderManHomecoming then crush the $900M barrier by SAT.

And if those projections prove to be accurate, then those numbers may look even better when Aquaman’s box office total ends along with its time in theaters. Not too shabby for the same movie that many claimed would get overtaken at the box office by Mary Poppins Returns. But what do you think of Aquaman managing to overtake the likes of Venom and Thor: Ragnarok at the box office?
