Black Manta Will Be The Villain In ‘Aquaman’

The King of Atlantis will face a familiar foe in his first standalone film. According to The Wrap, Aquaman’s long time enemy, Black Manta will rustle our heroes scales in 2018’s Aquaman. The news comes hot off of the reports that a Man Of Steel sequel is currently in active development.

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

You caught a small glimpse of the Atlantean King in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and he will return in 2017’s Justice League in a larger capacity. Aquaman is played by Jason Momoa. James Wan will direct the standalone that is expected to hit theaters in 2018.
