Arnold Schwarzenegger Gearing Up For ‘Terminator’ Return

Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms that he will be returning for the next entry in the iconic 'Terminator' franchise with James Cameron producing.

Arnold Schwarzenegger TerminatorThe Terminator franchise has had an interesting history. Although the first two films are universally beloved, every film that has followed up couldn’t measure up to what those original two films brought to the genre of science fiction and action. Plus, Arnold Schwarzenegger was at the top of his game in both The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most iconic aspects of this franchise James Cameron created. And although he returned to act in both Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and most recently, Terminator: Genisys, the stories of both those films particularly lacked – despite his commitment to the role.

The planned sequels to Terminator: Genisys were removed from their original release dates, and it looked as though that this series has reached the end of its rope. However, it has been reported that James Cameron is overseeing a brand new film with Deadpool director Tim Miller in-talks to direct it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has recently teased that he may be returning for this upcoming entry within the franchise, and it looks like he is all-set to come back. In fact, he was recently at the Cannes Film Festival, where he revealed that he recently spoke with Cameron about the project:

It is back. It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie..

Although I have a fondness for the first two Terminator films, I feel that the series has run its course. Granted, Cameron’s involvement had significantly minimized since Rise of the Machines, but given that he retains back the rights in 2018, I am a bit curious to see what he can bring to it now.

Also, Arnold Schwarzenegger has remained a shining light throughout all the films – regardless of the quality of the finished product. It’s a guarantee that he will bring his A-game to this new entry.
