‘Arrow’: Stephen Amell Teases Oliver’s Return To Lian Yu

Stephen Amell has teased that Oliver Queen will return to Lian Yu in the fifth season finale of Arrow and his reason for doing so is going to be quite surprising.

The season finale is set to come full circle as the flashbacks will finally catch up to the moment it all began with Oliver being rescued off of Lian Yu in the series pilot but over the course of this year, Oliver has had to learn a difficult lesson in the present as he not only had to train a new set of recruits to form Team Arrow 2.0, he also had to learn how to let himself trust those new recruits, even going as far as to rely on them recently to carry on a symbol of hope in the city as he is not ready to hood back up yet after he was broken by Prometheus when the throwing star killer captured him.

During a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, Amell teased his surprising return to the island in the present and that Oliver is going to find himself in a precarious situation without his team to fall back on:

“One of the things that will surprise us is why he goes and the amount of people who will be there. This whole year has been built around Oliver returning on a team, but what happens when Oliver’s team isn’t there for him and he still needs a team?”

The recently released trailer for the final episodes teased the return of several familiar faces to the series including Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law), Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) and Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke (Manu Bennett). As fans know, the supervillain is still locked up in the A.R.G.U.S. prison on Lian Yu. Could Oliver be turning to Slade for help to defeat Prometheus? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
