Throughout the last few months, there had been reports floating around that Arrow star Colton Haynes, who portrays the DC Comics character Roy Harper a.k.a. Arsenal, one of the core Green Arrow characters in the mythology, would be returning for multiple episodes in the fifth season which is currently filming in Vancouver, Canada. It also seemed to be confirmed when Willa Holland, who plays Thea Queen a.k.a. Speedy, shared her excitement about his return at a comic book convention in England which happened a few months ago.
However, now it has gotten all cleared up as executive producer and show-runner Wendy Mericle said in an interview with TV Line that there are currently no set plans to have Haynes’ character back on the show, but that they would love to have him back.
“We would have Roy back in a heartbeat. If the right circumstances come up and the right storyline presents itself, absolutely.”
