’Arrow’ Promotes Echo Kellum To Series Regular For Season 5

The fourth season of Arrow isn’t even over yet and already we have news about what is coming up in Season 5. TV Line broke the news today that Arrow’s newest player this season, Echo Kellum, has been promoted to series regular for the 5th season that will start this fall. The announcement comes at a very interesting timing as this week’s episode of Arrow will see the end of one of the main characters as someone will be killed off in the 18th episode “Eleven-Fifty Nine”.

The other interesting remark about this promotion is what happened in last week’s episode as Curtis Holt discovered the Arrow Cave and learned the secret identities of Green Arrow, Black Canary and Spartan. He assisted them in taking down Brie Larven (guest-star Emily Kinney) who was invading Palmer Technologies with her tech-bees (as well as her many bad bee-puns) to get the spine-chip from Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Richards).

They have been teasing that Curtis may be suiting up as his original comic book counter-part, Mr. Terrific (who goes by Michael Holt in the books). Whether or not that might happen next season or be setup towards the end of the current one, remains to be seen. But it is definitely safe to say that Curtis will be joining Team Arrow on a full-basis as the team is without a computer hacker right now. In this week’s episode, it is said that Felicity will be having a heart-to-heart with him about something, but you will have to tune in this Wednesday to find out.

“MALCOLM MAKES HIS MOVE – Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) learn that Merlyn (John Barrowman) is going to try to break Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) out of prison. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) gets a surprising offer and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has a heart-to-heart talk with Curtis (guest star Echo Kellum). Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Keto Shimizu (#AR418). Original airdate 4/6/2016.”

Arrow airs on Wednesday nights, 8/7c on The CW.
