Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle has teased the death of several characters in the upcoming fifth season finale.
This year saw the season 5 big bad Adrian Chase aka Prometheus slowly break down Oliver as a hero over the course of the season. While Chase has left Oliver a little more than an empty shell of who he was at the start of the season, he still isn’t finished destroying the Green Arrow.
Mericle recently explained Chase’s motivations to Entertainment Weekly when she teased that the worst is still to come:
“Chase has been trying to prove to the world and to Oliver that he’s not a hero, he’s a killer, and he’s going to pull out one final, big whamo at the end that’s going to leave Oliver reeling. We might lose some people.”
While it seems we may lose some of the current members of Team Arrow — or even possibly a former — the finale will include the return of several familiar faces to the series such as Deathstroke (Manu Bennett), Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law) as Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). Considering Cassidy as well as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and Dinah Drake/The New Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) all have deals to return next season, it seems highly unlikely they will be the ones to go in the finale.
So what do you think? Who will be buying the farm in the finale? Let us know in the comments below.
Arrow season 5 continues this Wednesday with “Dangerous Liaisons”. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Dangerous Liaisons” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)
