Three new titles for episodes in the final season of Arrow have made their way online, and they suggest that Stephen Amell’s title superhero is in for a world of trouble.

According to SpoilerTVArrow Season 8 Episodes 5, 6, and 7 are titled “Prochnost”, “Reset”, and “Purgatory”. All three words have ominous implications relative to The CW’s iteration of Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow.

First up is “Prochnost”, which is Russian for “endurance” or “durability”. The term has been used on Arrow a few times before, almost always with relation to recurring antagonist Anatoly Knyazev, also known as KGBeast. While KGBeast has previously assisted Stephen Amell’s title superhero, he has also been a significant threat. “Reset” is next, and it and the next episode may just imply that this is the episode that Oliver Queen dies in.

Finally, “Purgatory” is the name of the last episode of this set. Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow is expected to die as part of the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earth crossover. Whether or not this death actually sticks remains to be seen, but what if he dies before the crossover episode, which is confirmed to be the one right after this one? Perhaps, then, invoking the name of an afterlife is not simply a symbolic gesture, but a literal explanation of where our hero might be going. Arrow has played with supernatural elements before, and it might just be that our hero being dead could be something that ensures that the multiverse doesn’t collapse upon itself.

Following the crossover, Arrow has two more episodes left to wrap everything up. It’s truly the end of an era for The CW’s shows, and Stephen Amell is likely thrilled to be a part of the ride.

Here is the official synopsis for the final season of Stephen Amell’s Arrow:

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, Oliver successfully saved his city with the help of his team including former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), former protégé Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) and Earth-2 Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). In the wake of discovering what his future holds, Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance. In Arrow’s final season, Oliver Queen is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a hero.
