Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim has finally teased at an update regarding the proposed Canaries centered spin-off show.
Earlier this year, Arrow ended its eight season run, topping off the CW Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. Before this happened, however, the series aired an episode titled Green Arrow and The Canaries which served as a backdoor pilot to a proposed Arrow spin-off that would focus on the Canaries. Since Arrow ended earlier this year, there sadly has been little news regarding the proposed spinoff series. Now, however, Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim himself has finally given us an idea as to when we can expect news about the Canaries spin-off.
Earlier today, Marc Guggenheim was asked when fans could expect some news regarding the Arrow spin-off. He stated that they would hear something in May but indicated that he did not know if the series would happen or not. You can see Marc Guggenheim’s full Tweet below:

“It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Cassidy) and Dinah (Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended. Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city.”
