The title for the second episode of Stephen Amell’s Arrow season 8 hints at the return to a storyline from the third season.
Today, Arrow showrunner Beth Schwarz revealed the title for episode two of the Stephen Amell series’ final season to be “Welcome to Hong Kong.” News of the Arrow episode title suggests the series will return to a flashback storyline from the third season, in which Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen found himself in Hong Kong after being removed from the island of Lian Yu by A.R.G.U.S. Director Amanda Waller.
Oliver Queen’s desire to leave Hong Kong and return to his family was hindered by Amanda Waller’s successful attempt to coerce him into becoming her agent, which she accomplished by threating Maseo and Tatsu Yamashiro, as well as their son, Akio. Later, Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen thwarted a plot U.S. General Matthew Shrieve to attack Hong Kong by unleashing a bio-weapon called the Omega. However, Akio was killed in the process and the official reports covered the truth by labeling the incident as a chemical spill.
Consequently, Maseo joined the League of Assassins and Tatsu became a vigilante known as Katana. Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen was returned to Lian Yu but the recently revealed episode title could mean he will return to Hong Kong or perhaps Maseo and Tatsu will enter the picture again.
