It looks like Arrow will be taking a page of out the Fast and the Furious franchise’s book this year, as Season 6 is going to be all about “family.”
A few seasons ago, Oliver Queen learned that he was a father and that he had a young son named William Clayton (played by Jack Moore). With this revelation came many complications to Oliver’s life, such as the dissolution of his relationship with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), but the ultimate fallout came at the end of Season 5, when Prometheus (Josh Segarra) killed William’s mother Samantha (Anna Hopkins), leaving the boy in the care of Oliver.
During his panel at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Nashville, Arrow star Stephen Amell spoke about how William will factor into this season’s storyline. Here’s what he had to say:
“William is a very important part of Season 6. How Oliver adjusts to being a dad, how the people around him adjust to him being a dad, how the people around him adjust to William, is a central and integral part of season six. It’s really, it’s a lot about family.”
Here’s the official synopsis for Stephen Amell‘s Arrow:
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family.”
Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 at 9pm ET on The CW.
