Last week, Arrow introduced the new character of Tina Boland at the end of the mid-season premiere titled “Who Are You?”. We saw her take down two cocky men in a bar with her sonic scream, revealing that she is a meta-human. This week’s episode “Second Chances” featured Team Green Arrow trying to find a new Black Canary to honor Laurel Lance’s legacy.

We learn through flashbacks that she got her sonic scream during the particular accelerator explosion in Central City. However, as we get to the end of the episode, it was revealed that Tina Boland was just an undercover name for this woman when she used to be a cop in order to protect her family. So who is she? If you are still reading, here is the final spoiler warning.

It appears that Arrow actress Juliana Harkavy is actually playing the character of Dinah Drake. Sound familiar? That’s because in the DC Comics mythology, that was the first Black Canary. Dinah Laurel Lance, who was played by Katie Cassidy, is the daughter of the first Canary in the mythos. While it was assumed that Alex Kingston’s Dinah Lance was the Dinah Drake Lance character, it appears to not be the case.

Dinah Drake made her first comic appearance back in #86 of Flash Comics back in August 1947. She came off as a villain at first, but it was later revealed that she was just pretending to be one in order to infiltrate a group of criminals.

Arrow airs on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.  What do you think of this reveal? Sound off in the comments below.
