Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers film have been touted as the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe story to date. However, it initially appeared as though both films would not feature an appearance by Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director who first brought Earth’s Mightiest Heroes together to thwart Loki’s sinister plans. Now, AJC has published a new casting call indicating that Fury may ultimately be returning for the fourth Avengers film.

The casting notice calls for photo doubles and the following description for one of the roles sounds remarkably similar to Jackson’s appearance as Fury:

“Man #1 – looks African-American and is age 30s to 50s, from 6’2” to 6’4” and has a chest size of 38 to 40. You’ll need to be bald and must have a goatee or have facial hair that you’re willing to cut into a goatee to match the actor.”

Although the notice calls for a performer younger than Samuel L. Jackson, the aforementioned description certainly sounds as though it could be hinting at an appearance by Fury in the fourth Avengers film.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro, Danai Gurira and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theaters on May 4, 2018.
