‘Avengers: Endgame’ Iron Man Shot May Confirm Major Theory

A shot of Iron Man in the latest Avengers: Endgame preview may have confirmed the time travel theories.

Before Avengers: Endgame was released, set photos for the direct sequel revealed an older looking Tony Stark and Ant-Man meeting up with Captain America (who was wearing his older costume from the first Avengers film) in a location that resembled New York as it was being attacked by Loki and the Chitauri. This images caused fans to speculate that time travel would play a key role in the then-untitled Avengers 4 and now one shot of Iron Man in the new Endgame preview may have given those theories credence.

As Reddit user ucho750 notes, the shot of Iron Man flying in New York features a building with a burning window that resembles a similarly designed structure seen in the first Avengers film. Because Iron Man is wearing his new armor in the Endgame shot, fans are suspecting the scene in question may actually show present-day Tony Stark after he has traveled back to the Battle of New York.

It may be worth noting that the burning window seen in the Endgame shot with Iron Man does not appear to be in the same spot as the one featured in the first Avengers.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
