Does ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Have A Moment After The Credits?

Warning: this article contains major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame!

Avengers: Endgame features a lengthy, elaborate set of end titles which puts the spotlight on the original six from Marvel’s The Avengers,  but unfortunately for fans hoping to get a glimpse at the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future, The Russo Brothers opted not to include a post-credits scene, giving a finite ending to the conclusion of the Infinity Saga. However, that’s not to say the filmmakers didn’t include a little moment for fans after the credits finish rolling.

Once the audience in your theater finished groaning over the fact that they waited all the way until the end of the credits for nothing — possibly with their bladder on the verge of exploding — you probably heard a sound and asked yourself “What is that? Clanking?” as you saw the final Marvel title card before the theater kicked its lights back on. No, you aren’t crazy, you weren’t hearing things. It was indeed a nod to the hero that kicked off the MCU in 2008, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.

So what exactly was that sound? It was actually Robert Downey Jr. building his prototype armor before suiting up as Iron Man for the very first time. Being that Avengers: Endgame saw Robert Downey Jr. meet his demise after he snapped Thanos and his army from existence, it’s only fitting that The Russo Brothers would circle back to the moment it all began. In case you want to refresh your memory, you can check out a clip from the original scene in Iron Man below!

Avengers: Endgame will serve as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before Marvel officially ends Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.

Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
