The International Cinematographers Guild will bestow this year’s Publicists Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award to Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
After helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, Anthony and Joe Russo were tasked with concluding the first decade of Marvel Cinematic Universe as directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Released in the summer of 2019, Avengers: Endgame proved to be an acclaimed ending to the “Infinity Saga” that ultimately earned over $2 billion at the worldwide box office to become the highest-grossing film of all-time.
To celebrate their achievements, the International Cinematographers Guild will honor Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo with this year’s Publicists Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award. Lewis Rothenberg, National President of the ICG, made the following statement praising the Russo Brothers for their record-breaking work on the Avengers and Captain America films:
“Anthony and Joe Russo have made a huge impact in cinema with the record-breaking Avengers and Captain America films. They have taken audiences around the world on a wild journey with their unique and imaginative brand of storytelling and are two of the most exciting innovators in our industry today. We are thrilled to celebrate their cinematic showmanship and commitment to nurturing new talent.”
Anthony and Joe Russo will receive the award at the ICG’s annual Publicists Awards ceremony on February 7.

Henry Cavill’s ‘The Witcher’ Debuts New Poster & First Look Photos
Netflix has released a brand new poster for the Henry Cavill series The Witcher along with a slew of first look photos.
A stunning poster for the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher made its debut this morning, featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. In addition, Netflix also dropped the first official photos of Anya Cholatra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri as well as two more stills that offer fans a fresh look at Geralt.

Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’s The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.
