Fans have been waiting for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to go head-to-head with Thanos ever since the Mad Titan was introduced in a post-credits scene from the first Avengers film in 2012. Of course, with nearly six years to build up anticipation for the impending showdown, fans have high expectations of the powerful villain and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently hinted that they will not be disappointed during an appearance at this year’s Comic-Con Experience in Brazil.
Feige hinted that audiences will understand why Thanos is the greatest adversary the Avengers have ever faced within the first five minutes of the film:
“You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film. Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. So, within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Of course, with word that many of our favorite heroes will not survive the battle with Thanos and his underlings, fans may speculate that the Mad Titan could be killing one of the Avengers in the opening moments of the film. With the post-credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok featuring an appearance by Thanos’ ship, discerning who the villain’s first victims will be may not be too difficult to discern.
