Get this man a shield indeed. One fan has come to the conclusion that Captain America’s shield given to him in Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War could serve as an upgrade for the Black Panther suit.
It’s not as big of a stretch as some may think it is. And you may have already come to this conclusion already. After all, the shield came from Wakanda, so it makes sense that the same technology used for that shield could be applied to T’Challa’s suit. But then, as one commenter pointed out, Black Panther’s suit is bulletproof. He doesn’t need a shield in the first place, so an upgrade like this probably would be redundant. Still, when dealing with Thanos, you need all the protection that you can get.
Here, have a look at the theory postulated by a user on Reddit in the post below:
Cap’s Infinity War Shield Looks Like An Upgrade For The BP Suit from marvelstudios
Plus, as we saw in Black Panther, Shuri is always hard at work with new technology and armor, so it’s entirely plausible that the shield given to Cap could also have doubled as a possible add-on for T’Challa’s suit. While T’Challa was one of the victims of Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s a given that he’ll be back. There’s going to be a Black Panther sequel, after all. So like most heroes in the MCU, perhaps it’s time that T’Challa got himself an upgrade. Perhaps the shield Cap used could be a precursor to T’Challa’s suit in a Black Panther sequel.
What do you think of the theory, though? Do you think Cap’s shield in Infinity War is tailored specifically for him, or could it also work as an upgrade for T’Challa as well? And if so, would you want to see him receive such an upgrade in a Black Panther sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
Avengers: Infinity War is available now on home release. Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
