Though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still a little over one week away from hitting thearers, fans are already speculating on how the sequel and subsequent Marvel Studios films will lead into the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War. On the other hand, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is already formulating plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe once the ultimate battle with Thanos concludes. In an interview with Fandango, Feige teased those post-phase 3 ideas and explained that the next Avengers film will offer fans things never seen in a comic book film.
Feige explained how Marvel Studios projects will evolve after phase 3 concludes.
“It’s continuing to bring out films with characters that people have seen before and loved before, or new characters, but taking them to unexpected places, which is what I think the comics have done extremely well over the decades.”
Feige teased how Avengers: Infinity War will be unlike any other previous comic book based film.
“It’s more exciting than people are aware of right now, with what’s happening [on Infinity War]. We’re doing things you’ve never seen before with films based on comics.”
Feige also offered an update on the current status of the film’s production schedule.
“We’re deep into shooting; we’ve been shooting for 35 days. On most movies you’re almost halfway there after 35 days, but on these movies we’re still just scratching the surface. We’ll be filming through the end of the year.”

5 Ways Marvel Studios Could Follow & Top ‘Infinity War’
Marvel Studios has been building towards a massive confrontation with Thanos since 2012 in The Avengers. Now that Earth’s Mightest Heroes, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, are finally gearing up to take him down, it seems Marvel is in a bit of a quandary. Obviously they’re not going to just give up on the most successful film franchise of all time, so where do they go from there?
Well, comic fans, you’ve come to the right place for answers. Marvel has a lot of stories to choose from over their 75 year history, but not all of them are right for the big screen. Also, some of our favorite Marvel characters, like Wolverine or the Fantastic Four, have their film rights owned by rival studios, meaning we shouldn’t expect to see them team up with Iron Man or Captain America any time soon.
