Avengers Infinity War Marvel Studios

Avengers: Infinity War is the longest running Marvel Cinematic Universe film to date and there are definitely some moments that weren’t able to be in the final cut of the film. The Russo Brothers who helmed the mega Marvel mashup discussed one scene involving the Guardians of the Galaxy that was left on the cutting room floor.

The directors of Infinity War were recently discussing the third Avengers sequel on EW Morning Live on Sirius XM radio and the question was brought up about things the two weren’t able to fit in the final cut. The two experienced filmmakers discussed being very conscious during the scriptwriting process of what will be able to happen and how they managed to fit this giant film into a reasonable time frame.

While answering the question, Joe and Anthony Russo dished out some fun Guardians of the Galaxy trivia Infinity War fans will be psyched to hear. Here’s what the two revealed about the deleted Guardians scene.

“It’s a scene where they’re sort of stuck. There’s a point in the movie where they’re stuck without knowing what to do. And it was just this absurd scene of the Guardians not knowing where to go. And it was really fun and it was very endearing to us. But because the movie is so big and so propulsive, it just wasn’t quite pushing us where we needed to go.”

Avengers: Infinity War is a wall-to-wall action-packed thrill ride and definitely doesnt’t hold back on humor. The majority of the funny parts of the box office juggernaut come from the members of Guardians of the Galaxy. The fact that one memorable situation from Peter Quill and company didn’t make it into the theatrical cut isn’t as tragic as the film’s ending, especially since in the final moments of the video, the Russos confirm it will be a deleetd scene on the Blu-ray and DVD release. Until then, Marvel fans can see the Guardians of the Galaxy team up with Earth’s Mightiest heroes to take on the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, which is in theaters now.
