Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel will unite several heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the ultimate battle against the ruthless Thanos. One of the characters who has the biggest score to settle with the Mad Titan is Karen Gillan’s Nebula, the adopted child of Thanos who vowed to get revenge on her father for years of abuse during her childhood. However, it appears that Nebula may have to wait until the second installment of the epic story as Gillan has revealed that she has yet to receive her script for the upcoming Avengers film.
Gillan revealed the news during a panel at Phoenix Comicon, prompting fans to speculate that Nebula may not be returning until the untitled fourth Avengers film. However, with Avengers: Infinity War scheduled to film until August, there may still be time for Gillan to shoot scenes as Nebula.
Considering Marvel Studios has a penchant for secrecy, it is entirely possible that they are holding the script back from Gillan until her time to begin filming draws closer. Of course, with the film still just over one year away from arriving in theaters, fans can only speculate on when Nebula will return.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautisa, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Infinity War will be release in theaters on May 4, 2018.
5 Ways Marvel Studios Could Follow & Top ‘Infinity War’
Marvel Studios has been building towards a massive confrontation with Thanos since 2012 in The Avengers. Now that Earth’s Mightest Heroes, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, are finally gearing up to take him down, it seems Marvel is in a bit of a quandary. Obviously they’re not going to just give up on the most successful film franchise of all time, so where do they go from there?
Well, comic fans, you’ve come to the right place for answers. Marvel has a lot of stories to choose from over their 75 year history, but not all of them are right for the big screen. Also, some of our favorite Marvel characters, like Wolverine or the Fantastic Four, have their film rights owned by rival studios, meaning we shouldn’t expect to see them team up with Iron Man or Captain America any time soon.
So, hit the Next button to find out what Marvel Studios should do after Avengers: Infinity War!
