‘Avengers: Infinity’ Concept Art Reveals A Much Different Nidavellir Sequence

New Avengers: Infinity War concept art offers fans a glimpse at just how different the scene on Nidavellir nearly was.

Avengers: Infinity War is a film that features a story spanning all across the galaxy, so there are quite a few different locations shown throughout. One of those locations is Nidavellir, the planet on which the Dwarves used to reside. Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket (Bradley Cooper) journey to the planet to forge a weapon called Stormbreaker, which is presumed to be strong enough to slay the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Thor arrives at the planet expecting to be greeted by a whole population full of Dwarves, full of life, but instead, it’s a desolate location that is only populated by the lone Dwarf Eitri (Peter Dinklage), whose hands have been destroyed by Thanos, much like the rest of the Dwarves were. Thanks to a new piece of concept art, fans can now get a glimpse at a version of the Nidavellir sequence that is much brighter and populated by other Dwarves of varying sizes. The more fantastic look to the Dwarves and Nidavellir as a whole would’ve been a great, diverse scene visually but having the planet be more of a visual representation of the aftermath of Thanos’ carnage seemed to work for fans just fine. Instead of a whole new cast of characters, the creative team behind the film decided to have one Dwarf who, like Thor, had to watch his people die after bowing down to Thanos’ demands.
