A new piece of concept art from Avengers: Infinity War has revealed a terrifying early design for Red Skull.
In 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger introduced audiences to Red Skull, an iconic Marvel Comics villain who was brought to life by Lord of the Rings and The Matrix star Hugo Weaving. While the character was believed to be dead for many years, Red Skull made a surprise return in Avengers: Infinity War, with The Walking Dead star Ross Marquand replacing Weaving.
In Infinity War, Red Skull is revealed to be the keeper of the Soul Stone on the planet Vormir. Last week, concept artist Jerad S.Marantz shared one of his early Red Skull designs for Infinity War, revealing an alternate take on the character that would have showed how the Soul Stone “twisted and deformed” him.
