A deleted scene from Avengers: Infinity War shows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trying his best to save the Guardians of the Galaxy.
A bevy of deleted scenes from Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame have surfaced online. This brand new deleted scene isn’t as mind-blowing or altering as the other ones we’ve received, but it’s still a sweet treat that allows us to better gauge how interwoven the Avengers films are. In the deleted scene, we see Doctor Strange instructing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to help save the Guardians of the Galaxy because Thanos has separated their souls from their body on the planet of Titan.
Obviously, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has no idea how to actually tether one’s soul to one’s body, which is why Doctor Strange explains to him that Mantis can do exactly that. Swinging into action, we see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man hilariously navigate through the crumbling Titan and procure the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which include Drax, Star-Lord, and Nebula. Mantis flounders at the thought of helping them, but Tom Holland’s Spider-Man gives her the confidence to do so. This results in hilarious banter between the Guardians and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man when they are awakened and feel a tremendous amount of pain.

It’s fair to say that this scene from Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t add much to the narrative of the almost 2 and a half hour film. While it’s certainly cool to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man swing into action, it definitely takes away from the already tight run-time that was dedicated to setting Endgame. Its continuous comedic tone also distracts from the doom that Thanos wanted to exercise in Infinity War.
