‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Directors Reveal Deleted Scene At Tony’s Home

Avengers Infinity Endgame War Halloween Marvel Studios

Pepper Potts (Gwenyth Paltrow) almost had another on-screen appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

Massive movies like Avengers: Infinity War tend to have excess footage to use or toss away in the cutting room. That’s why studios sometimes release director’s cuts, but on the other hand that’s why unreleased director’s cuts remain unreleased, simply because the additional footage was thought to be necessary but when looking at the big picture, it isn’t. This practice isn’t exclusive to big-budget fair but it tends to be the case when a storyteller has such a huge story to tell.

For example, it was revealed earlier this year that  Black Panther originally had a 4-hour cut. While attending a screening of Avengers: Infinity War for the Collider Screening Series, directors Joe and Anthony Russo took part in a Q&A once the film concluded. During this Q&A, they revealed that they originally had another scene with Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) and Pepper at the Stark home.

Outside of this description, that’s all fans know about the missing scene. Some fans may be disappointed by the lack of Pepper Potts in Avengers: Infinity War but the character is expected to play a larger role in Avengers 4. Some rumors even point to her donning her Rescue armor from the comics, though there hasn’t been an official reveal just yet.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers: Infinity War as soon as more information becomes available. Would you have liked to see more Pepper in the movie? Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
