Avengers: Endgame star Karen Gillan expressed her interest in directing and playing the titular role in Batgirl.
With Bumblebee and Birds of Prey Christina Hodson writer penning the script for Warner Bros. Batgirl film, fans are already proposing potential actresses to portray the iconic DC heroine. Of course, some actresses have expressed interest in the Batgirl role themselves and now Avengers: Endgame star Karen Gillan has become the latest to note their fondness for the character.
During an interview with Omelete on an international promotional tour for Jumanji: The Next Level, Karen Gillan was asked which comic book character she would love to play and replied, “Batgirl would be pretty cool.” Having directed the film titled The Party’s Just Beginning, Karen Gillan was then asked which superhero film she would like to helm and the Avengers: Endgame star once again turned to Batgirl:
“Batgirl would be pretty cool for that as well. My favorite films in that world are dark, and my favorite one is Dark Knight. I just love the way that was directed so much so I would love to work in that kind of world as the director.”
Batgirl is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flashpoint film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Supergirl, New Gods, and Aquaman 2.
