‘Avengers: Endgame’ Star Karen Gillan Says The Time Travel ‘Makes Sense’

Avengers: Endgame star Karen Gillan stated the time travel in the film makes sense during an interview with the LA Times.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame centered on our heroes as they traveled back in time on a mission to retrieve the Infinity Stones and use them to reverse Thanos’ decimation. However, the film followed new time travel rules (or at least ones that movie audiences aren’t used to from films like Back to the Future) in hopes of explaining how the team’s actions in the past wouldn’t change the present, but they may have created more questions than answers as a result. Nonetheless, Karen Gillan said that her experiences on Doctor Who gave her a good grasp on time travel and that the concept makes sense in Avengers: Endgame:

“I already had a good grasp of time travel from “Doctor Who.” [Laughs] I’m a time travel expert. I would say it adds up. But they definitely should have listed “Doctor Who” in that scene where they talk about time traveling movies. I can’t believe I didn’t pitch that in the moment!”

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
